Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

hybrid
Calgary, Alberta, Canada .

Description

Who We Are
Tetra Digital Group is Canada's leading institutional digital asset infrastructure provider, and right now, we're at an inflection point five years in the making.

As Canada's first and only regulated digital asset custodian, we've built the institutional foundation that the market now demands. Backed by Urbana Corporation, National Bank, ATB Financial, Wealthsimple, Purpose Unlimited, Shakepay, Shopify, and Coinbase Ventures, some of the most consequential names in Canadian finance and fintech, we're building infrastructure that matters.

Tetra Digital Group operates three interconnected businesses: Tetra Trust, our regulated custody arm; Tetra Unity, a platform connecting custodians, risk systems, and data networks; and CADD, a compliant on-chain payment rail backed 1:1 by Canadian dollars. In December 2025, CADD completed its first successful smart contract deployment and partner testing, moving Canadian dollars between National Bank and Wealthsimple in a controlled testnet environment. It marked the first time a Canadian-dollar stablecoin has ever transferred between two financial institutions. We're on track for a Q1 2026 launch.

We're a team of under 30. The infrastructure we've built punches well above that number, and so does the opportunity ahead.

Who You Are
You’re a seasoned financial reporting professional with strong judgment, high integrity, and a pragmatic approach to technical accounting. You thrive in regulated and audit-intensive environments where precision matters and timing is critical. You’re equally comfortable executing day-to-day close activities and stepping back to assess risks, controls, and the effectiveness of reporting programs. You understand the operational discipline required to deliver audit- and regulator-facing reporting on tight timelines.

You bring hands-on experience with IFRS, multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and preparing auditor-ready working papers. You understand trust and tax-basis reporting (including Net Trust Income / Trustee Fee mechanics and s.104 considerations), and you are comfortable with digital-asset revaluations, FX, SBC and other complex month-end adjustments. Detail-oriented, accountable, and calm under pressure, you enjoy partnering with Operations, Treasury, external auditors and leadership to ensure reporting is accurate, auditable, and embedded into business processes rather than bolted on. You are excited to work closely with the Head of Finance to own consolidation, attestations and continuous improvement as the business scales.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Act as a primary finance partner for internal teams.
  • Manage bank and custody reconciliations and daily/weekly cash position reporting with Treasury.
  • Own intercompany posting rules and review monthly intercompany splits and reconciliations.
  • Support tax (GST/QST) and statutory filings as required.
  • Respond to senior management requests and support ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Lead and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and cost center reporting.
  • Prepare and own the monthly Net Trust Income (tax-basis) working paper.
  • Build and prepare auditor-ready documentation and signoffs.
  • Produce entity financial statements, variance analysis and consolidated financials.
  • Monitor, analysis, and report on KPIs, highlighting trends and month-over month changes.
  • Apply IFRS judgment to complex transactions; research issues and document recommended treatments and disclosures.
  • Maintain and update finance policies, procedures, reconciliations and controls.
  • Act as first-level technical reviewer and owner of knowledge transfer activities (SOP’s and templates to improve accuracy).
  • Identify and deliver process or automation improvements to shorten manual effort.
  • Support monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting cycle.
  • This role provides the technical and modelling backbone and owns the detailed reconciliations and close-cycle deliverables.
  • Respond to audit queries, manage remediation plans and drive closure of findings.
  • Prepare regulator-facing reporting and support ATBF/regulatory inquiries as required.

What We’re Looking For
Experience
  • CPA designation
  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting or FP&A (public practice or industry), including audit experience.
  • Demonstrable hands-on consolidation ownership (mappings, eliminations, multi-entity close, statement of cash flows, statement of shareholder’s equity).
  • Strong financial systems capabilities, including advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly
  • Exposure to trust/fund accounting or tax-basis reporting (Net Trust Income /s.104) is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret IFRS or s.104 of the ITA and translate them into clear, operational processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting policies, procedures, and management reporting.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment with a hands-on mindset.
Personal Attributes
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and solutions-oriented.
  • Detail-oriented, accountable and calm under pressure.
  • Able to work independently while maintaining strong alignment with the Head of Finance and broader leadership team.
Nice To Have
  • Experience with digital assets, crypto custody, fintech, or payments environments.
  • Prior involvement with trust/qualified custodian reporting.
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax/tax-basis adjustments and s.104 mechanics.
  • Experience helping scale finance functions in growing or early-stage regulated businesses.
What’s In It for You
  • A $80,000-$100,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • A front-row seat to Canada's digital asset transformation, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something that doesn't exist yet
  •  A small, high-calibre team where your work is visible, your contributions are felt, and your growth is real
