Tetra Trust Job Board

People Operations Partner

hybrid
Toronto, Ontario, Canada .
full-time . March 3, 2026

Description

Who We Are
Tetra Digital Group is Canada's leading institutional digital asset infrastructure provider, and right now, we're at an inflection point five years in the making.
As Canada's first and only regulated digital asset custodian, we've built the institutional foundation that the market now demands. Backed by Urbana Corporation, National Bank, ATB Financial, Wealthsimple, Purpose Unlimited, Shakepay, Shopify, and Coinbase Ventures, some of the most consequential names in Canadian finance and fintech, we're building infrastructure that matters.
Tetra Digital Group operates three interconnected businesses: Tetra Trust, our regulated custody arm; Tetra Unity, a platform connecting custodians, risk systems, and data networks; and CADD, a compliant on-chain payment rail backed 1:1 by Canadian dollars. In December 2025, CADD completed its first successful smart contract deployment and partner testing, moving Canadian dollars between National Bank and Wealthsimple in a controlled testnet environment. It marked the first time a Canadian-dollar stablecoin has ever transferred between two financial institutions. We're on track for a Q1 2026 launch.
We're a team of under 30. The infrastructure we've built punches well above that number, and so does the opportunity ahead.

The Role
We're looking for a People Operations Partner who can keep up with a company that's moving fast and building in real time. You'll partner directly with our Chief People Officer to run and grow the entire People function, from recruiting to payroll to culture, as we continue to grow and scale.

This is not a process-management role. It's a build-it, run-it, improve-it role. Some days that look like closing a critical hire. Other days it's setting up a new HRIS, navigating a difficult employee situation, or designing an onboarding experience from scratch. You're in it all.

If you've spent your career waiting for a fully defined job description before getting started, this isn't the right fit. But if you're someone who sees a gap and fills it,who thrives in ambiguity and takes real ownership of outcomes, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Own
  • Full-cycle recruiting, scoping roles with hiring managers, sourcing, interviewing, and closing. You own candidate experience from the first touchpoint to the first day.
  • Onboarding, designing and running a consistent, thoughtful experience for every new hire. Not a checklist. A real introduction to the team and the work.
  • Payroll & HRIS, hands-on processing and system administration. You've done this before and don't need to be trained from zero.
  • Employee lifecycle, performance management, employee relations, progressive discipline, and offboarding. You're the person managers call when something's hard.
  • Compliance & benefits, keeping Tetra on the right side of employment law, health and safety regulations, and benefits administration across a distributed Canadian workforce.
  • Culture & engagement, helping build something people are genuinely proud to be part of, across in-office, hybrid, and remote contexts.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, with meaningful time as a Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • You've worked in a startup or fast-scaling company, you know what it means to build systems while the business is already running
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing and closing candidates in competitive markets
  • Hands-on payroll experience, you've set up and processed payroll, not just reviewed it
  • A communicator who earns trust quickly, influences without authority, and handles sensitive situations with discretion
  • A genuine learner, curious, adaptable, and always looking to get better
  • High agency and a bias toward action, you don't need a perfect plan to make progress
  • Experience in fintech or financial services is a plus, but we'll teach you the sector if your fundamentals are strong.

What You Get
  • $80,000-$100,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • A front-row seat to Canada's digital asset transformation, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something that doesn't exist yet
  •  A small, high-calibre team where your work is visible, your contributions are felt, and your growth is real

A Note on Fit
Tetra moves fast and the expectations are high. We're not a place that slows down to accommodate bureaucracy or process for its own sake. We hire people who are wired to take ownership, stay curious, and do great work, especially when the path isn't perfectly clear.

If you've come from a consulting or advisory background and you're ready to stop making recommendations and start making things happen, this is that opportunity. You'll see your ideas built, your programs running, and your impact felt across the whole organization. No hand-off. No waiting for a client to act on your deck. Just the work and the results.

If that sounds energizing rather than exhausting, we'd love to hear from you.

How to Apply
If you’re passionate about fintech disruption and ready to architect your own success story, this is your moment. Join Tetra and let’s redefine Canada’s financial future together. Apply now and seize this career-defining opportunity!

Submit your resume along with thoughtful answers to the application questions. We're not looking for perfect answers, we're looking for honest ones. Tell us who you are, what drives you, and why this role at this moment makes sense for you. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Tetra is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply and will provide accommodation throughout the hiring process upon request.
