Who You Are
We're seeking a dynamic Head of Business Development & Sales to spearhead our expansion and drive exponential revenue growth in this rapidly evolving market. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you'll be a strategic individual contributor leading the full-cycle sales process from prospecting to deal closure, while building a robust pipeline of institutional clients and delivering exceptional experiences that create lasting partnerships. What You’ll Be Selling
In this role, you’ll be driving customer acquisition for Tetra Unity, our composable digital asset operations platform. Designed to enable institutions to manage and future proof digital asset operations at scale, across custodians, wallets, jurisdictions and asset types. Unity serves the full spectrum of institutional users, from TradFi incumbents to digital-native firms, including asset managers integrating digital assets into traditional portfolios, crypto trading platforms seeking institutional-grade infrastructure, family offices expanding into digital assets, ETP providers offering digital asset exposure, banks and financial institutions adding digital capabilities, and high-net-worth individuals requiring secure, consolidated oversight. Built by the team behind Canada's first regulated digital asset custodian with years of real-world operational success.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Strategic Lead Generation & Market Development: Drive high-quality lead generation targeting institutional clients across global markets including asset managers, banks, family offices, crypto trading platforms, and ETP providers. Leverage your expertise in fintech sales to identify and pursue opportunities through LinkedIn, industry events, digital marketing, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
  • Full-Cycle Institutional Sales: Own the complete sales process from initial prospecting through contract negotiation and deal closure. Build and manage a robust pipeline targeting institutional decision-makers who require sophisticated digital asset operational infrastructure. Focus on high-value, complex enterprise deals with long sales cycles.
  • Technology Solution Selling: Master Unity's composable platform architecture to effectively communicate complex technical benefits to C-suite executives, CTOs, and operational leaders. Craft compelling presentations and proposals that clearly demonstrate ROI through operational efficiency, risk reduction, and scalability improvements.
  • Global Market Expansion: Lead business development efforts to expand Unity's presence in international markets beyond North America. Identify regional opportunities, navigate regulatory considerations, and develop market entry strategies for key jurisdictions including Europe, Asia-Pacific, and emerging digital asset markets.
  • Strategic Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with system integrators, consulting firms, and complementary technology providers to accelerate market penetration and create channel opportunities for Unity's platform.
  • Complex Deal Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations for enterprise software agreements, working closely with legal, compliance, and technical teams to structure deals that meet institutional requirements while achieving revenue targets. Navigate complex procurement processes typical of large financial institutions.
  • Relationship Management & Account Growth: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key institutional clients, serving as their primary point of contact throughout implementation and beyond. Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts to drive recurring revenue growth.
  • Market Intelligence & Product Feedback: Stay ahead of trends in institutional digital asset adoption, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape. Provide actionable market insights to product and engineering teams to guide platform development and feature prioritization.
  • Sales Strategy & Analytics: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and competitive positioning. Track and report on sales activities, pipeline progression, and key performance metrics including deal velocity, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and ongoing satisfaction. Share customer feedback to inform product roadmap and support marketing efforts with case studies and testimonials.

What We're Looking For
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field. MBA or advanced degree in technology or business is strongly preferred.
Work Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in an early stage venture environment. You’ve demonstrated the resilience and creativity required to compete with larger incumbents, the adaptability to keep pace with a rapidly changing environment and the autonomy required to learn and solve challenges to meet your goals.
  • Enterprise Software Sales: 12+ years of experience in B2B enterprise software sales, with a proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals ($500K+) with institutional clients and smaller ticket deals that require ongoing effort to expand contract value over time.  Experience selling to financial service institutions is essential. 
  • Fintech/Financial Infrastructure: 5+ years of direct experience selling financial technology, infrastructure software, or SaaS solutions to banks, asset managers, hedge funds, or other institutional financial services firms.
  • Digital Assets/Blockchain: 3+ years of experience in the digital asset ecosystem, with deep understanding of institutional adoption challenges, regulatory requirements, and operational complexities in crypto/blockchain technology.
  • Global Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in international sales and business development, with experience navigating different regulatory environments and cultural considerations in key markets.
  • Complex Solution Selling: Proven ability to sell sophisticated, technical products that require consultative selling approaches and involve multiple stakeholders in the decision-making process.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture, API integrations, data management, and institutional technology requirements. Ability to engage in technical discussions with CTOs and engineering teams.
  • Institutional Sales Expertise: Deep knowledge of how large financial institutions make technology purchasing decisions, including understanding of procurement processes, compliance requirements, and stakeholder dynamics.
  • Digital Asset Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of digital asset custody, trading operations, settlement processes, and regulatory compliance requirements across different jurisdictions.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional presentation and written communication skills with ability to influence C-level executives and technical decision-makers. Experience creating compelling business cases and ROI justifications.
  • Pipeline Management: Proven ability to manage complex, long-cycle sales processes with multiple stakeholders. Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics to optimize performance and forecasting accuracy.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen with ability to identify market opportunities, competitive advantages, and strategic positioning. Experience developing go-to-market strategies for new products or markets.
  • Results-Driven: Track record of consistently exceeding quota in competitive, high-growth environments. Comfortable with performance-based compensation and aggressive growth targets.
  • Cultural Intelligence: Ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones, with sensitivity to local business practices and regulatory environments.
Technical Skills:
  • Sales Technology Stack: Proficient in enterprise CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot), sales engagement platforms (Outreach, SalesLoft), and analytics tools for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Presentation & Collaboration Tools: Advanced skills in creating compelling presentations using PowerPoint/Keynote, Figma/Canva for visual content, and collaboration platforms for remote selling.
  • Market Research: Experience with market research tools and methodologies to identify prospects, competitive intelligence, and market sizing for new opportunities.
*Nice to Have: Technical background or certification in blockchain/cryptocurrency, multilingual capabilities, and experience with regulatory compliance in financial services.
