Tetra Trust Job Board

Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Tech Lead (Path to Engineering Leadership)

hybrid
Toronto, Ontario, Canada .
full-time . June 1, 2026

Description

At Tetra, we’re building at the forefront of digital asset innovation in Canada. This is an opportunity to join early, ship meaningful product, and play a foundational role in shaping both our technology and our team.
This role starts as a hands-on senior engineer and technical lead, with a clear path into broader engineering leadership as we scale.

The Role
You’ll operate as a senior individual contributor while providing technical leadership to a small, growing team. You’ll partner closely with the CTO on architecture, product delivery, and team development, without stepping away from the code.
As the company grows, this role is expected to evolve into a formal leadership position with increasing scope across technical direction, hiring, and team development.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own and deliver critical features across the stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure)
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship to engineers
  • Collaborate with the CTO on architecture and system design decisions
  • Contribute to scalable, performant, and maintainable systems
  • Establish and uphold engineering standards, best practices, and documentation
  • Support hiring and onboarding as we grow the team
  • Leverage modern tools, including AI, to improve development efficiency and workflows

Tech Stack
Our stack will continue to evolve, and you’ll have a direct hand in shaping it.
  • Frontend: React 18, TypeScript
  • Backend: Go (Golang)
  • Tooling: Vite, SWC, Jest, ESLint, Prettier
  • Styling: Sass, CSS Modules
  • Database: PostgreSQL (Kysely)
  • Infrastructure: AWS

We prioritize performance, type safety, and developer experience across the stack.

What We’re Looking For
Core Experience
  • Strong full-stack development experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and backend systems
  • Proven ability to own and ship production features end-to-end
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers (formal or informal)
  • Solid understanding of scalable architecture and engineering best practices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Experience with Go or interest in learning it
  • Exposure to fintech, blockchain, or regulated environments
  • Startup or high-growth company experience
  • Experience with secure application design or infrastructure

Location & Work Model
This role is based in Toronto with a hybrid model (minimum 3 days per week in-office).
During the first three months, we prioritize in-office collaboration to accelerate onboarding, team integration, and product context.

Why Tetra
  • Build at the frontier: Help shape the future of digital assets in Canada
  • Real ownership: Your work directly impacts the product and company trajectory
  • Leadership path: Clear opportunity to grow into a senior technical leadership role
